THE CHALLENGE

THE CHALLENGE

The world we’re preparing students for is changing beneath our feet.

The world we’re preparing students for is changing beneath our feet.

The world we’re preparing students for is changing beneath our feet.

Students are disengaging. Teachers are exhausted. Families are under enormous pressure. Budgets are tightening. And AI is disrupting teaching and learning faster than many schools can adapt.

Students are disengaging. Teachers are exhausted. Families are under enormous pressure. Budgets are tightening. And AI is disrupting teaching and learning faster than many schools can adapt.

Students can now generate essays, solve problems, summarize readings, create presentations, and complete assignments in seconds. Meanwhile, educators are trying to determine what students actually know, what they still need to learn, how AI should be used, and how to prepare young people for careers that are themselves being transformed by technology.

Meanwhile, educators are trying to determine what students actually know, what they still need to learn, how AI should be used, and how to prepare young people for careers that are themselves being transformed by technology.

And through all of it, school leaders are still responsible for raising achievement, retaining great people, strengthening culture, engaging families, and preparing students to flourish.

Dr. Manny Scott’s doctoral research examined how highly regarded cross-cultural communicators developed the cultural self-awareness and intercultural competence needed to become more effective and appropriate across cultural differences. From that research, he developed BRIDGE, a framework for understanding the process of disruption, awareness, learning, adaptation, and contextualization.

The people doing the work feel the difference.

“I’m in my 46th year as an educator. I’ve served as a suburban and urban superintendent, led a state school boards association, and now teach leadership and policy studies at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Manny Scott is the greatest speaker I’ve ever heard. But after hearing him teach, I believe his strongest gift may be teaching and interacting with educators. He takes complex ideas and makes them easy to understand. His message is one of the clearest I’ve ever heard for rural, suburban, and urban school districts.”

Dr. Keith Ballard

Superintendent

Tulsa Public Schools

“Before Dr. Scott even left, my superintendent texted me: ‘Book him for our next event.’ He connected powerfully with both our teachers and our students, and his team was professional, organized, and incredibly easy to work with. It was an unbelievable day.”

Dr. Keith Patrick

Director of Entrepreneurship

Lubbock-Cooper ISD

“I asked a group of principals, ‘What’s the best thing that’s happened to you this week?’ The overwhelming response was Manny Scott. Teachers came back inspired, saying, ‘I’d forgotten a lot of my purpose and why I’m here. He reminded me what we’re doing, why it matters, and why my role is important.’”
